radio

My entire working life has been spent in radio and television.   I’ve worked in radio as an on air personality for the last 14 years.  I got my start in high school after bugging a dj over and over and over to give me an internship, he finally caved and I was sucked into one of the most addicting media forms in the world.    I’ve hosted shows on mostly Top 40 formats across the country from Casper Wyoming to Washington, DC.  My shows can currently be heard in Upstate, NY and Salt Lake City.   If you want to hear me right this very second, you can visit my other site: ashleereid.com

I had a a short stint in television (off air) at a 2 station combo, a CBS and CW affiliate.   I worked behind the scenes in the creative services department doing everything from promo editing (I heart Final Cut) to casting calls.   I learned a lot during my time working in tv but it also showed me that my heart belonged to radio.

My blog name, ashallann, is actually inspired by my radio career.    It’s a combination of names I’ve used, Ashlee (ash) Ally (all) and my true name involves the last part. I’m sure that was a burning question for you.

Truthfully I got into radio so I could be photographed awkwardly near perfect looking celebrities:

(Nick Lachey totally wanted me)

Gwen and the Harajuku girls (with my friend Fink:)

Not many people could look unattractive standing next to Screech, I picked the right day!
